Ridley Scott's Best Movies In Recent Memory

By Henry Banks

Compiling a list of the greatest Ridley Scott films of all time is no easy task. For decades, Sir Ridley Scott has been behind the lens of some of the greatest movies to come out of Hollywood. Mr. Scott is not bound by any genre; he tends to stray toward action and adventure, but he is willing to try anything.

This article will highlight and discuss what I consider to be the best Ridley Scott films of his illustrious career.

One of the most iconic films that Ridley Scott directed was without a doubt, Thelma and Louise. This film starred Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon as the renegades Thelma and Louise, respectively. If you haven't seen this film and are a fan of either of these actresses, you must.

Black Hawk Down is another great Ridley Scott film. This is one of the few films that depicts war in Africa so well. This movie just has such a real feel to it, not to mention an amazing cast in Josh Hartnett, Eric Bana, Ewan McGregor and Tom Sizemore.

No list of Ridley Scott films could be completed without giving mention to Gladiator. This is arguably the film of his career, and it came as little surprise to most who saw it when it won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix were both excellent.

Another one of the all time great Ridley Scott movies is Blade Runner. This classic film was released in 1982 and at the time of me writing this article, is ranked as the 113th best film of all time according to the Internet Movie Database.

One other movie that I feel is worthy of mentioning is Kingdom Of Heaven. Few people do war films as good as he does and this film was proof of it. No, it was not as good as Gladiator, but it was still an enjoyable film.

Hopefully there are one or more films from the great Ridley Scott in this article that you have yet to see.

Music is an important part of our lives - we can use it to change our moods, create an atmosphere, or simply to relax to. Playing an instrument is not only a great way to experience the music; it is also an enjoyable, useful skill to have. The electric guitar is one of the most popular instruments, and free lessons can be found online that will help you learn to play.

The electric guitar is an instrument that can be played with many different styles of music because it has many different sounds. When listening to the radio, you can hear the electric guitar on a hard rock, jazz, blues, country, easy listening, or pop station.

You may want to learn the electric guitar so you can play along with your favorite bands, but you just don't have the money to pay for lessons. The good news is that many websites offer free guitar lessons that can teach you much of what you need to know.

The one drawback to online guitar lessons is that you don't have a teacher right there in the room with you to help you place your fingers on the right strings and show you a specific chord. However, there are other benefits to learning from a teacher online.

One, of course, is that the lessons are free. Also, many websites offer a section where you can email or chat online with your teacher if you have any questions about what you are learning. Another benefit is that you can take the lessons whenever it is convenient for you, and you can often select what you would like to learn.

There are different styles of electric guitar playing that go along with many different types of music. Make Your Own Beats For Free

By Matthew Tregre

The actual value of a beat or music is based on an underlying perception of its true value, perception being the keyword. Don't rip yourself off by buying a beat online for $500 if the producer has no credibility or his or her image and stature in the music industry doesn't give value to your demo or album sales. Look at what Brittany Spears did on her latest album, take note of the album credits and all the popular "Producer Powers" employed, essentially playing a major part in her attempt to revive her career.

The average rate on the Internet for a "Non-Exclusive" beat license is $0 - $75. With this type of license you are essentially leasing or renting the beat for a given amount of time or copies. The average for an "Exclusive" beat license is from around $75 - $250. This type of license gives you full ownership of the beat, as if you created it yourself. More popularly noted as "work for hire". Note: Some exclusive licenses may restrict resale.

To get the most for your money, and protect yourself from "beat-jackers" (people who steal other peoples beats and resell them) try to contact the producer first to see if he or she is responsive, email or PM seems to be the best method. Don't just buy beats from "Joe Blow" without making some kind of contact first. Trust me, real beat makers who are truly vested in their craft make themselves available and they'll be happy to hear from you (it builds their ego) and will more than likely work a deal out with you if you buy more than one beat from them. If a seller takes more than two days to respond, keep it moving. There are literally thousands of other producers who will stop at the drop of a hat to make a $20 sale in hopes of repeat business and a little recognition. Try starting off with producers that you see are already selling beats to others on the net or have their beats rated high or "Hot". Obviously they are doing something right and they are more than likely satisfying other beat buyers needs.

When you buy beats online, make sure there is some type of printable licensing agreement associated with the beat you buy. A licensing agreement/contract will explain the rights you have with the beats and the terms under which you may use the beat.

Cheap exclusive beats are the best deals to get but there are very few producers out there who are willing to sell you an exclusive beat from $20 to $40. Check out thebeattrader.com for some of those type deals. There are not a lot of producers on that site and understandably so, but the site became very popular for selling low priced exclusive beats a few years ago.

The next best thing is a low priced non-exclusive. Remember, the catch with non-exclusive beats is that the beat may have been sold several other times before you buy it, so if you are looking for fresh music, make a list of the producers you like on a site and watch their profiles. Good experienced online producers know to cycle out old beats and update their profiles with new beats at least every 2-3 days.

I'd say a fair price to pay for a non-exclusive beat is about $20. There is an abundant amount of producers selling beats online right now who would fight for your business. Online producers are almost a dime a dozen so it's really easy nowadays to get unique music for your mix-tape, demo, or album at and very affordable price.

For reference, BeatSwagger.com is one of the best sites to buy beats on. The site has very affordable beats, fast transactions and its easy to use. You basically click, buy, and download your beat instantly from a secured link sent to the e-mail address of your choosing. Plus, you can also instantly download a printable licensing agreement after you buy beats. The site prides itself in its more mature, seasoned music producers and beat makers. The majority of these producers are serious about selling beats and are easy to work with.

The expenses to build a recording studio in many cases can elevate so it is vital that you acquire a useful expertise in the various kinds of systems so you don't throw away your budget.

One of the more imperative items that you simply could order is actually a music studio room microphone. If or when it provides inadequate characteristics then you're bound to decrease a good deal of quality for the recording of vocals and musical instruments. The following are some very helpful strategies to reflect upon once you are looking for mics.

The initial aspect to realize is that they would probably grasp sound any place you place them. Several are perhaps very much less tough in contrast to others though lots of lower-end microphones are built the same. If you're searching towards a high end model then you will likely count on additional features and quality of sound.

Some of these high end microphones may perhaps be much more of a cost to begin with however if you intend to utilize them quite often then they could be well worth the bucks.

Dynamic microphones are literally a great deal stronger in comparison to condenser mics and will possibly face up to being dropped. These are normally widely used for both live and recording performances. Dynamic microphones can often be used recording high decibel amplified equipment, which can include acoustic guitars.

This kind of mic doesn't need its own energy source supply. Dynamic microphones are incredibly convenient and often will be utilized to record both vocals and musical instruments. With every single recording studio room mic you employ to record vocals, it's actually a intelligent purchase to invest in a pop filter, to filter out a singers hissing or popping sounds.

Condenser mics are hands down much more delicate as compared to dynamic mics and do need a power supply. This is given sometimes through an internal battery or perhaps an external power supply. They're less affordable in comparison with dynamic microphones and are usually viewed inside a recording studio room setting rather than out at performances.

How Comedy Films Were In The Past

By Matt McKinley

Taking a look back in time at the movies of old we come to notice that a large bulk of them were silent movies. These were mostly in the genre of making people laugh while at the same time letting them know that good always reigns over evil in the end.

Most of the people who would go to watch films therefore would expect the movie to contain a lot of humor no matter what the subject matter was about. As time went by these comedies were slowly replaced with satires that would point fingers at different things in the community.

With the use of humor, movies were a good way to deliver messages to the masses about what was going on in their society while entertaining them at the same time. Movie producers came to realize that one way of captivating the audiences was through the use of gender swapping roles that let the women know what it was like to be a man and vice versa as well.

At that time, movies became more helpful to understand the happenings of society by dint of pure humor and charm. The films those became famous, for instances, 'comedy of manners', were entirely focused on the fact of peculiar way of doing something in the society. The most amusing fact is that, these things are represented through extremely polished dialogues. Some films are remarkably appreciated by the audience only because of involving different gender movements inside the scenes. As an example, we can talk about the film 'Tootsie' where besides using different gender an exquisite humor is provoked.

In some cases, results showed that in the end more people would prefer to go watch a classic being reincarnated in a mocking manner than a totally new comedy film.

Another interesting style of comedy came from the black comedies which aimed to make humor of seriously tabooed habits like murder but in a way that the audience realize that in the end it does not pay.

The audience was able to laugh through a major part of the film but when it came to the punch line they would have the fear of committing taboos instilled in them.

There are many other comedy genres which were created by combining humor with other themes like action to create action comedy and so on and so forth.

A Variety Of The Greatest Acting Performances From The Very Interesting Actor, Matt Damon

By Adam Hart

This article will focus on the films of Matt Damon. Damon is a native of Boston, Massachusetts and has been starring in great movies since the early 1990s. At such an early stage of his career, it is amazing that he has already won an Oscar. What is even more amazing is that it wasn't for acting. I have no doubts that one of those awards will come his way soon enough.

Let's discuss some of Matt Damon's best films so far in his career.

The first movie on this list that I will mention is The Talented Mr. Ripley. Matt Damon stars as the title character that is sent on a mission to bring back a spoiled rich boy, played by Jude Law. This movie is better than I make it sound.

Another awesome Matt Damon movies is Good Will Hunting. There is little doubt that this is the film that put both Damon and Ben Affleck on the map. In fact, they also wrote the screenplay together, for which they received an Academy Award.

Another film that definitely makes the list for me is Ocean's Eleven. I didn't enjoy Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen as much as the first, but the first one was fantastic. This was a well executed story.

One film that certainly makes the list for me is The Bourne Identity. This first film in the now trilogy of Bourne movies sets the pace for the saga. Although Jason Bourne cannot remember what happened to him in this movie, he knows he can kick some butt.

The final movie that makes the cut for me is Green Zone. This movie is similar to the Bourne movies in quite a couple ways, but is definitely more of a politically based film.

It is clear after going through his movie catalog that Matt Damon has had quite his fair share of great movies.

Another movie of Steve Martin in 2009 is entitled It's Complicated. If you're asking what the movie is all about, well, it's complicated. The movie is all about Jane, a middle age woman who got separated from her husband. As the story goes, her husband is living with another woman but Jane is still having as affair with him. So now, she is "the other woman" in this very complicated relationship. Steve plays the guy who's in love with Jane, and finds out her affair with her ex-husband through a webcam. Maybe that's the reason why the movie's title is It's Complicated.

It's been heard that Steve will be taking part in another Disney movie this 2010. It's an animated movie, or so we heard, and Steve will do a voice over for a character. With his first movie role as a kid who works for Disney, it seems that he's becoming a favorite of the guys in Disney.
