The iTunes software from Apple forever changed the digital music industry. With digital music being one of the main sources of music for most people these days, over 80 percent of people currently own an iPod. The iTunes store came out along with the iPod. For those who love to download music as soon as it comes out, iTunes boasts having the largest number of songs ready to download at any time.

While also having the most overall content, iTunes also has the most diverse content in that it holds more different types and genres of music than any other online retailer. It is incredible that you can download the content that is readily available from iTunes and place it on an iPod that fits in your pocket! They keep the prices reasonable too as a single song costs only 99 cents while entire albums sell for ten dollars or less.

You must download the iTunes software off of the internet in order to use the online music store service. This software is compatible on both Mac and Windows, and if you have already purchased an iPod you will not need to do anything as the software is preloaded onto your device.

When it comes to user friendliness, iTunes is at the forefront when searching for music. You can find music on iTunes by simply searching in the keyword box for anything relevant to the artist, genre, title, or many other categories of music that you are searching for.

When using the iTunes software, you can search your files that you have on your computer and find all of the ones that are already in the iTunes file format for use with your MP3 player. iTunes has made it apparent that with all of the innovations that it has made in the online music distribution industry that it is here to stay.
