The Quality Of Bosphorus Cymbals

By Angela Sullivan

I am confident that most individuals will agree with me that Bosphorus is the in thing currently as far as cymbals are concerned. Being a firm which had its humble beginning in Istanbul, Turkey. Bosphorus cymbals has grown tremendously into an international company with its products sold overseas. Jeff Hamilton and Stanton Moore have even agreed to endorse their quality products.

Ibrahim Yakici, Hasan Seker, and Hasan Ozdemir are the founders of this company. These young men gained their experience after working for some time with the initial Zildjian company. There were disputes and divisions of the Zildjian company. This created a gap for these two individuals to exploit where they opted to start the Bosphorus company.

To the few who have been lucky enough to set their touch on this merchandise, they seem to have the adventure to tell. They are fascinating to use not only on the music quality that includes the tone and p[itch but also in their overall cost. As compared to the native ones which were best for jazz, they can be used for different music kinds.

An additional uniqueness of these cymbals from Bosphorus is that they are cost effective if compared to other brands of this product. In Australia for example, the cost of one is almost half the price of other from different manufacturers. The reason behind this low cost is mainly due to their low cost of production where only manual work is applied.

The basic features of these merchandise are very similar to that of the Zildjian. In fact, if it is not for the logo on them one can easily mistake them to the K Zildjian or A Zildjian cymbals. This is totally understandable since Bosphorus views the Zildjian as their mother industry.

The market has given the latest oracles a positive feedback due to it apparent quality in their make up. These latest brands are unique and their output cannot be ignored. They include rides, hi-hats and crashes. One single thing that comes up with them is their raw material which is B20 bronze used for the first time.

The B20 bronze type is one of its kinds when it comes to cymbal manufacturing. Over the years bronze has ever been used as the only material for making them. However, with Bosphorus adopting this type of bronze, they can easily shape them into their desired shape, spreading the weight evenly and eventually flattening the edges accurately.

Despite their traditional appearance, they have well designed with very attractive finishes. Their surfaces are covered multiple hammer marks on top which run through from the edges to the centre. Concentric circles are found on the bows of the cymbal making it extra attractive to the eye.

When it comes to this merchandise, the outer beauty is not enough to define their greatness. They have got very amazing sound output. The B20 bronze used to make them makes it easy for one to regulate the quality of sound they want. Ranging from the hammers to the rides, the sound quality cannot be compared to any other cymbal manufacturers.
