Benefits Of Fishing Gear Dryden Ontario Canada Restrictions

By Harold King

In most parts where there are large water masses, most of the economies in these areas rely on fish for sustainability. The methods of cashing fish are different, some apply the traditional methods while others apply the modern techniques. The amount and size of fish to be caught also depends on the tackle one is using to catch the fish. Some states have enforced fishing gear Dryden Ontario Canada restrictions and the following benefits have resulted from the move.

The first benefit of these restrictions is that the fishermen who use traditional methods of fishing have been protected from those using sophisticated technology to catch fish. Most of the traditional fishermen use rods and nets that only catch the mature fish and are only capable of catching a small amount of fish. But if those using technology to fish can continue, the other fishermen will suffer.

The limitations are also meant to protect the endangered fish species. Most people who rely on this activity as a way of life know how to protect fish species and will use methods and fishing cogs that are friendly. However, in case the state fails to restrict the use of rods or nets that do not meet their standards, then, these species will become no more since they can no longer multiply.

Redundancy levels will not increase but will reduce in future. When firms using technology to fish are regulated, draining fish in waters will decrease significantly. It means that fish will be available for the future generations since the sources will still have plenty. In case overfishing is allowed, piscary will not be an economic activity anymore. A lot of fishermen will lose jobs and even those dealing with fish products. Joblessness will increase.

When excess piscary is controlled, fish will be available and in large numbers in these waters. It is a benefit to the economy since more job opportunities will be created. Demand for fish outside the country will also go high thus improving trade. When there is better trading the economy is going to grow. This is contrary to what happens to countries that pay no attention to the act.

In a market, the sellers with more products dictate market prices. The same will apply in the fisheries industry, those using technology to fish harvest large amounts of fish and when they get to the market, even when they sell at a low cost they will not incur losses. Those who suffer most are the small-scale fishermen because they make losses. But with the government intervention, a surplus will not be available hence the prices for fish will be competitive.

Also, gear restrictions help a lot to limit fish mortality. Most methods used to catch fish in some areas cause their death, especially the young ones. But with some methods being prohibited in some areas, the mortality rate significantly reduces hence increasing fish population. In the long run, there will be increased revenue from this activity.

In conclusion, once the population of these species has increased, the domestic price of the commodity is going to reduce significantly which is a benefit for the consumers. Again, there will be increased exports due to the surplus which earns the country foreign exchange.
