Music Video Submission Is Easy

By Timothy Davis

Watching visuals over music being played is very moving. If the footage is good and dome with good taste, it can be an amazing experience. Watching music videos is like watching a movie. It just has a lot more music added to it because it is showing off the music and the artist who created the tunes. Music video submission can be done with some hard work.

Promoting people who are trying to get noticed is not hard and can be very rewarding. A phone number or email address on your website can help people get in contact with you should they have any questions about submission. Leave clear instructions on your website, but also be available for help. Staff that answers the phone or emails can be a great help.

Jpeg files are usually for still photos that are used in a video. Mov files are the music or visuals. Be clear what formats you receive and do not receive. Some may not compatible with the system that you are using, but try to have programs that are mainstream enough so that anyone who submits in any format can be used by your organization.

Asking a professional to help may be a good idea. You may get overwhelmed with people wanting to submit and if you are not a technology expert, some of their questions may not be something you will know the answer to. Hire someone if you can afford it to help out with this need.

If someone submits something that you like, you should notify them and tell them that you can publish their work. Have a plan for how you are going to promote the video. You could show it on various talk shows and other places where it will be seen by a large part of the public. People just starting out will know it will take time to promote their work.

Ask some other professionals whom you network with on a daily basis if they have a way to promote an applicant's work. They may have resources that your company does not have. If they do not have a way to promote it, they may know of someone who does.

Encourage all of your applicants to have reliable ways for you to contact them such as email or phone. It would be horrible of you cannot get a hold of them. You have decided to work with someone and they left no phone number or email address when they sent you their reel. It would be very heart wrenching to have to move onto someone else because of a lack of simple information.

Hopefully you find your work to be satisfying. Working with others who have talent is rewarding, but you are working in a very competitive industry. It could become stressful. Enjoy the beauty of those small moments where you see the unique talent of someone who just submitted an excellent video and that just made your day.
