How To Succeed As A Corporate Narrator

By David Peterson

Companies and organizations are looking for the best talents to voice over their learning materials. This is a lucrative venture because the companies are always producing fresh materials. But not everyone can become a corporate narrator. There is a secret to taking up the role and making a life out of it. Follow this guide and see your career blossom.

Master the language used. Organizations prefer different languages depending on the audience and products. Only masters of these languages will have an opportunity to participate in projects. Pronunciation of words and intonation in sentences must be perfect. You need to practice and focus on producing content that is captivating and can be distributed far and wide.

The products, culture and uniqueness of the company must be understood. Narrating is not just about reading words on the script. You need to understand the audience, context and how to connect with listeners. Companies are choosy when going for talents. It is your passion for the company that will capture the attention of the judging panel. This passion makes it feel as though the company is making the narration.

Brands and companies are sensitive about the people or voices that represent them. A wrong choice will compromise the reputation of a company. You therefore need to keep your reputation clean. If your reputation is damaged, there is possibility that no brand will want to be associated with you even when you have offered the best prices. Safeguard that reputation to raise your profile in the industry.

Participate in auditions and trials whenever they are held. This is an opportunity to expose your talent and voice. It will capture the attention of scouts who will give you a job now or in future. Failure to attend auditions means that your voice will remain forever hidden. No one will know that you have an amazing voice until you are willing to take it out into the public.

Drop your audios to organizations and recruiting agencies. In fact, you should have the recorded audios ready for distribution whenever an opportunity arises. Some of the deadlines are usually very short or come to you as a surprise. In the absence of recorded materials, you will miss so many opportunities. Make friends and network with people in the industry. They will recommend you for the next project or alert you whenever an opportunity that suits you arises.

Keep your voice in perfect shape. Since you will be narrating, the voice becomes your tool of trade. Unless it is in good shape, you cannot get the opportunities. Any through infection or disease should be treated with urgency. Failure to act on time will expose you to vocal cord damage, a scenario that would herald your end. Take a lot of water, eat the right foods and avoid consuming food or drinks that can affect your voice. Shouting or activities that would affect vocal production should also be avoided.

You need to be outgoing to get a chance to narrate for companies. Have a distinct voice that is clear and can be manipulated based on need. Showcase your talent at every opportunity possible to ensure that organizations give you a chance. When you have gotten the least of gigs, give it your best.
