For An Exotic Pomeranian Puppy Tulsa Is Worth Visiting

By Andrew Lewis

The Pomeranian is among the large number of dogs that can be classified as toys currently. There are only toy versions of these dogs in existence because they are purebred. The name Pomeranian originates from Northern Europe in the Pomeranian region. The dogs can also be called pom poms or simply poms. In the US, their popularity is moderate. When in search of an exotic pomeranian puppy Tulsa should be given priority.

Poms are available in 23 different color combinations which are all accepted by the AKC. Some of the common colors include orange, white, chocolate, beaver, black and sable. There are a number of color combinations accepted by the AKC. In this breed, strips and spots are considered a lack of conformity and a fault. Thus, AKC does not accept spotted and stripped poms.

One of the most common type of poms are the blue poms. When people hear the name blue Pomeranians, they imagine that the dog has a blue coat. However, the blue is named after the color of the nose of the dog. Blue poms generally have fur that is dull black in color with the nose having a bit of a blue coloring. The eyes of blue poms may be blue as well.

It is worth noting that these dogs usually change the color of their coat as they continue to grow old. This means that the color that puppies have when they are born will not be the same color they have in their old age. For example, a puppy born with a cream coat may age to become white or brown in color.

Some very popular people have owned these dogs in history. Some famous owners include celebrities, artists, presidents and also queens. These famous people have made a major contribution towards the popularity of the breed. Mozart and Michelangelo are examples of famous artists who were in love with poms. In 1888, a pet pom was acquired by queen Victoria which she named Marco. The popularity of the pom then became widespread in Europe and the entire world following adoption by the queen.

The breed has also been owned by presidents of the United States and presidents of many other countries. Another important fact about poms is that when the Titanic sunk, two Pomeranians survived the ordeal. Aboard the titanic, there were nine dogs in total, but only three survived and two of the surviving dogs were poms.

Even though the large sled dogs are the ancestors of poms, the current version of poms is very small in size. Before the crossbreeding of the sled dogs with other breeds to give rise to poms, the sled dogs used to be used to herd reindeer. The queen of England, Victoria put such great effort to breed the poms to their current miniature size. A weight range of poms is 7 to 10 pounds.

Even though poms are very small animals, they are very courageous. They often seem not to fear larger dogs, and will often take them on in a fight when they find a chance. When they are not properly socialized, it may be hard for them to coexist with other breeds or pets. To eliminate this problem, socialization should be done at an early age.
