Io Echo: One Of Indie Category's Greatest Bands Of 2012

By Francis McLaughlin

Despite the fact that Io Echo had only decided to release their first song album in October 2010, they have been popular way before then already. Indeed, their popularity seems to stem from their otherworldly music that they produce which are, from time to time, rather unsettling as well. While many may seem to be of the opinion that they're not developing much progression since their launch, they've actually opened for some of the most popular names in the industry. Plus, this group is in fact the producer of the sound track for that hit film known as Rebel.

Prior to their album launch, they've released a song back in 2009 and it was apparent that this group is into pop and rock with a tad of goth influence scattered in it. In the first album itself, they have gone on to incorporate various other instruments like the harps of the Japanese as well the Chinese violins. If you are familiar with any of the 1980's music, you might even be able to identify some of its influence here. In just a short few years, the Io Echo band has catapulted into the top performers of the indie category.

Some of the big names that they have opened for include Nine Inch Nails, The Big Pink, The Drums, and Florence and The Machine. This gives them credibility in the music world, and has helped them gain recognition in spite of their slow progression early on. The symphonies that they produce are both soothing and energetic, and the unusual tones and combination of sounds has a very wide appeal across a number of genres. That is one of the reasons that they are considered one of the top picks and an up and coming group to watch closely.

Apart from Io Echo, there are many other excellent indie bands that are on the rise in popularity as well. It doesn't really matter what type of music or genre you have a preference towards. It is likely that you'll be able to find one that suits you perfectly. You might very well have a liking towards a mix of pop and rock or perhaps something more ominous and goth-like is your kind of thing. By doing a simple search on the net for these, you'll be able to find tons of options available to you.

Those who enjoy the indie market may want to search the Internet frequently, in order to find new groups that may not have received much attention. Before big names in this category were recognized on a wide scale basis they started out underground, with little publicity from the mainstream media but an increasing following and word of mouth buzz that spreads quickly. This type of publicity can not be bought, and may be priceless in many situations.
