How To Make Beats And Instrumentals

By Delroy Wilkins

You spend hours trying to create your hip hop sound. Over the course of time, you make sure that you use a variety of techniques that will give your sound the appeal that you want. You use layering to give your music the perfect groove. You might think that you are finished but if you have not looked at the auxiliary sounds, than your music will not be as complex as it should. While a simple sound may appeal to some people, most of them want sounds that are deeper and more complex. The best way to accomplish this is to add the auxiliary sounds to your beats before you say they are complete.

Auxiliary sounds are usually hidden from the listener's ears. The listener doesn't actually listen to these sounds in the fist instance. Despite this, these sounds will add depth to the beat making it worth listening to. To effectively use auxiliary sounds, it's advisable to always break them down first into categories such as these.

Sounds that accent the beat are the sounds that put emphasis in certain parts of the beat. Imagine the sound of a crash cymbal being played at the end of a beat. It is something that people will remember, but it also makes what came before it more special. This technique is especially important to make certain parts of the music stand out. Bass sounds and piano sounds can also be successful accents that enhance your beats.

Transition FX Sounds. Within tracks, there are specific parts of transition such as from chorus to verse. Auxiliary sounds are a great way to mark these parts within the song. Drums are commonly used transitioning sounds. However, you can still get a great effect if you use other auxiliary sounds such as bass or keyboards.

Fun sounds. Adding specific sounds within the beat can make it more fun. The auxiliary sounds used to bring out this effect are usually specialized sounds. These specialized sounds can be samples from other songs or even, sounds listeners come across daily. A sigh can be a great example sound that falls under the category of fun addition.

If you intend to create great hip hop tracks, you need to understand more about auxiliary sounds. Without incorporating auxiliary sounds within tracks, songs won't have that special effect that gets listeners to want to dance to a track. Professional music producers understand the need of incorporating these sounds to create hits.
