Examining The Need For A 3D Hologram Utilization

By Ryan Cooper

Development of technology has resulted in plenty of changes in various sectors. There is not a single sector which can operate efficiently without technological intervention. As far as the education sector is concerned, stakeholders have gradually embraced the need for 3D hologram in teaching and learning. This is characterized as a three dimension image formed through the interference of light form the laser. The dimensions that come in play here include depth, height and width.

The education scene has constantly been using white boards and projector screens for the purpose of bringing in real world experience to learners. However, with the holographic technology, digital participants are brought into the class. This enables lecturers to delivers instruction to many classrooms in various locations, at the same time, thus saving them from making spontaneous trips to varied institutions.

This technology is suitable since a number of students from across the globe can be attended to at the same period. By so doing, the teacher is able to save as much time as possible and is saved from the hassle of traveling up and down for a lesson. The time that could have been wasted is in turn spent in course work and studies thus elevating the level of performance of the learners.

Holographic technology is also essential as far as the demonstration of concepts is concerned. In a given class environment, various types of learners exist. They range from kinesthetic, visual and auditory learners. When videos are used as the only learning aids, it will only benefit visual and auditory learners. However, with holograms, all learners will be able to gain and feel as if they are viewing the examples live. This helps in quicker concept grasping.

Learners can also be in a position to discuss with their counterparts across the globe. The traditional classroom setting is composed of discussions within a specific niche. This denies learners an opportunity to understand viewpoints from a cross section of cultures and backgrounds. The holographic telepresence is effective in the sense that it allows varied groups of learners to engage in intellectual conversations that lead to construction of new knowledge.

The use of holographic telepresence also enables learners to be able to make virtual field trips in any remote place. This is carried out from the comfort of their learning environs. Historical concepts and ideas can be witnessed thus enabling them to have the concepts engraved in their minds. On the same breathe, the institution will also be in a position to spend less on such trips when this technology is in place.

The technology can also be applied when having board meetings and seminars with potential investors. Sample of state of the art education facilities can be displayed in a manner that evokes the interest of potential investors. This will in the long run help in convincing them to give the go ahead to developing construction projects. By so doing, the level of education will be escalated.

As it has been seen above, there is a need for all education institutions to invest in this type of technology. It will definitely bring in a previously unimagined level of engagement and excitement to learning process. By so doing, learners will be more attracted and be inspired to pursue further studies in a bid to discover more in the field of technology.
