HD Samsung TVs - What You Need To Know

By Peter McConnell

When it comes to home appliance stores, there are lots and lots of HDTV displays available from in a wide variety of brand names. Many top manufacturers also put out a lot of different models that are designed for various needs. Features differ from model to model, but don't let that confuse you when trying to make a selection. If you see certain features you like in one high-end HDTV, it is very probably that you'll find those same features in other models by other manufacturers. For instance, Samsung is one of those brands that attempt to put many of their models on the same level, offering similar features across the board. As a result, the high-def Samsung television is innovative, attractive and very popular in the market.

HDTV Design

Samsung lots to experiment a lot when it comes to design. They are known for making fancy and sleek home theater systems so buyers can feel like they are in the future. When it comes to HDTVs Samsung has tried some things as well and the most noticeable is the Touch of Color design that has been present in many models including 2011 models. The concept is adding a gradient of color on the bottom bezel to make it stand out more. Since the first color used was red, many people liked the idea of something rather different to show off in their living rooms. Not everyone was in favor of the design but the Touch of Color design continued to carry on while introducing other colors like charcoal gray and brushed titanium. One particular Samsung model has an asymmetrical design, which goes to show how imaginative Samsung can be.

Technologies

Samsung introduced an advanced display early in 2011 with a 3D LED. These displays are very thin, come with an Ultra Clear Panel which keeps all of the colors presented very natural. High-end models also come with Precision Dimming Technology which yields darker blacks without producing a "halo" effect. They also come equipped with 240 Hz Clear Motion Rate which yields smoother visuals. In the midrange models, they come with a 120 Hz which is still good for watching television and sports shows. Samsung has various categories for its displays which are by "series" in order to make purchasing a model easier to understand. Even if a person buys an entry level model, they can still get some good features including Wide color Enhancer Plus which provides more detail to imagery. All of their models both 2010 and 2011, exceed Energy Star 4.0 standards and are considered environmentally-friendly with reduced power consumption.

Other Special Features

Most of the recent models come with a Game Mode which works towards improved quality with games especially in areas that are dark. They also have a USB port on some models and can use the ConnectShare Movie feature which allows you to playback videos, pictures and music from a flash drive. On the higher-end models there is a feature called Samsung Smart TV which allows special Samsung applications to go to various web services via the Internet and an Ethernet connection, and some models even allow you to connect and talk with Skype.

Because Samsung is such an innovative company, its models continue to improve and impress buyers, allowing them to thrive in the fiercely competitive television market.
