In the US presently, the proportion of families possessing a High Definition TV is over 60%. Over 12 percent are intending to buying one in the near future. The move towards possessing an HDTV is an international phenomenon. To take full advantage of a High Definition Television, a Blu-ray player is a necessity. Online streaming is one of the hottest internet activities, letting you see video from all over the world, TV shows and movies. It's already a widely held opinion that Blu-ray is out-of-date. Yet, web streaming cannot compare to the quality you get from watching from a Blu-ray disc. Hidden from view, the I/O connections are found on the player's back end. The video quality of the VBR200W Blu-ray player by Vizio is Full HD 1080p while using a Blu-ray disc and it plays regular DVDs at levels virtually as good as High Definition. You can use one of three options - Component, HDMI, and composite outputs - to plug in the video. The greatest video output is reached when using the HDMI connection when replaying Blu-ray discs and DVD discs also.

The sound quality is 7.1 multi channel surround sound via HTMI, and in addition, other options are analog and Digital Optical/Coaxial outputs. While you do have internal decoding for DTS-Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD, 7.1 analog outputs are not supplied. Streaming of films, news, television programs, music, funny videos and other content is performed using the Vizio VBR200W player's Internet Apps. There are many web services that you can use such as Netflix, Twitter, Facebook, The New York Times, Associated Press, Pandora Internet Radio and lots more. An onboard ethernet port and wireless capability offer two ways to hook up to the internet, which is a requirement for obtaining streaming content.

A quick-start guide makes for easy setup, and an owner's manual is provided, along with extra information. One disadvantage of the Vizio VBR200W is that you will not be able to stream video or music files from your computer straight to the player. It isn't hard to find reasons for buying the VBR200W Blu-ray player by Vizio, beginning with the excellent video and audio reproduction. The playback on the Blu-ray disc is Full 1080p via HDMI. In terms of audio, Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD can be decoded internally. The player can access numerous web streaming services including VUDU, Netflix, etc., as well has built-in WI-Fi. The downsides to this Blu-ray player are that there is no Quick Start Mode, and it has no DLNA capabilities.
