All About Mixed Media Patterns

By Audrey McGuire

Art can be expressed in so many ways. This is one of the things that you can do using any emotion or thought that is in your mind. A very interesting way to express your creativity is by venturing into mixed media patterns. This is a way of creating art by not limiting yourself to one medium alone. Many people are now into this because it is fun, free, and allows you more ways to be creative.

In art, a kind of medium that everyone is familiar with and use every day is the pencil. Other common examples would be your watercolor, chalk, marker, crayon, and charcoal. You can also make use of pastel, conte, and sand. In terms of architectural art, a medium can be metal, wood, sand, glass, or stone. With mixed media, the artist can use any number and kind of medium to create rich layers.

There are many ways that this particular art is being applied. Aside from being used to decorate interiors, it is also being incorporated in various industries. The best example would be the textile industry. This is also used in the fashion industry for designing bags, clothes, and all sorts of fashion accessories. It is used in houses and furniture.

A very great thing that could happen when different medium are used is something surreal is created. People also use this when they want to create something contemporary and edgy. When you have any medium at your disposal, you can play with patterns, colors, and textures that you want to use on your base.

This method is also a great way that creativity can be facilitated since it encourages expression in different forms. One of the problems some have when using one medium is they feel limited. This problem can easily be solved by giving a person different medium that he can use to create things based on his emotions.

The freedom to use any medium means that one is also free to utilize whatever technique that he has in mind. This would be ones chance to experiment using different tools and techniques. It is also a good way to give more depth to an art by making layers that differ in terms of texture and applications.

For those that would love to make one on their own, they can do this even if they are not professional artists. Art is all about expressing yourself and you do not formal training to do. However, if you believe that it is helpful to learn different art techniques, there are many art classes that you can attend.

However, if you are only interested in owning the art piece instead of making it, you can just pay someone to make one for you. There are artists that can be commissioned to create something for their client. One more option is to check out galleries and exhibits to see if there is something you can buy.

Mixed media patterns represent fun and beauty. These beautiful patterns tell a story and embody a person's feelings. These are things you can appreciate whether you are an artist or not.
