How To Make Simple Decorative Eggs For Easter

By Maryanne Goff

If you're stuck for ideas this Easter and have a party to organize, then one of the first things you'll probably need to think about is decorative eggs. These have been a trend at parties for a long time, and they give you the chance to become creative by coming up with original ideas that will make your party unique.

One thing that you might wish to do is ask your children for their help. Kids love to get involved in creative tasks, and they'll probably be thrilled about you keeping them busy during the holiday season. Additionally, they may have friends who are interested in helping with the decorations. It could even become a ritual to do this year after year.

One of the most common ways to use decoration at Easter is to hang the egg from walls using string. They can be hung anywhere, but usually they'll be put in hallways and in entryways. Do not use eggs that have not been hollowed. If you do and the egg falls to the floor, you'll have a shattered decoration and a massive spill to tackle.

The best way to hollow out your egg is to prick the shell with a needle and let the contents dribble out. Don't throw them away. They'll make a great omelette of can be put into a cake.

Whenever you choose to dye an egg always make sure you look at the instructions on the side of the dye packet. Once an egg has been colored you don't have to leave it at that. If hanging them, you'll need to use hot glue to attach ornament hooks onto each egg. After this, tie some colored string or ribbon to half the eggs and use it to make a chain on eggs. The chain can be used on doorways, as well as ceilings and entryways.

People with an appetite for being bold might want to create an egg creature. This also does not take up much time, yet the results are stunning. As usual, make sure the egg is hollow by pricking the shell with a needle and letting the contents bleed out. Once they are dried, decide exactly what sort of animals you want to make.

Making an egg wreath is another easy way to impress your guests. You can choose to use fake egg for this or the real ones, if you have a little more time. They should be painted bright colors and threaded in a forty inch loop with wire. Some people go the extra mile and add a little tissue paper around the wreath, which acts as leaves, and some use beaded ornaments.

Most decorations are not designed to last a lifetime. In fact, many people actually give away their decorations after the party, as a thank you to guests and those who helped make them. Whatever you decide, be sure to use your imagination and to create a spectacular show for your guests. There exists a variety of beads, colors, glitters and other things to make your decorative eggs stand out.
