How To Get A Celebrity Impersonator You Can Count On

By Paulette Short

The work of any performer is to entertain the audience. When you hire a celebrity impersonator, you should expect that they give a spectacular performance that almost equals that of the actual superstar. However, the demand for such actors has seen an increase in people claiming to be movie doubles of top celebs. You can use the tips below to avoid cons and choose someone who will give you value for your money.

Consider the type of training the individual has gone through. No one can be born with the character, moves, diction, and the exact appearance of another individual. Therefore, even if they have the looks that can pass for a certain celebrity, they need to be trained to talk and behave like that person when they are on stage.

Ask for photos. This will help you see if the individual looks anything close to the person they impersonate. However, in the world of Photoshop, you have to be very careful when making your analysis. There are people who are so good that one can hardly tell that the picture is not real. However, if you look at the areas around the face very carefully, you can tell if it is fake.

Ask for a video demo. Ensure that you are provided with a high-resolution product. If it is poorly produced and you can hardly see the finer details or hears the words clearly, then do not even waste your time. You may end up with someone who looks completely different from what you expected.

There have been incidences where the person that turns up for the show is not the same with the one that was advertised. To avoid such occurrences, you can ask to be given at least two videos that show the impersonator performing at a past event. You can identify the event to confirm that it really occurred. You will also be able to know if the character has what it takes to make your guests entertained.

Ask for testimonials. Look for past clients and see what they have written about the performer. Most happy clients normally write letter of appreciation, which could be posted on the website. Remember that some people may make up these testimonials, so check the contact details so as to confirm if they really exists. It would not hurt to confirm sources claimed by the agent.

Avoid falling for frauds. Agents always try all tactics to see a deal go through. Therefore, if you suspect the agent is trying too hard to have the have the impersonator perform at your event, then knows there could be something wrong. You can ask a few random questions to see if the responses they give flow.

Meet the performer first. A good agent should let you talk with their client. When you are on the phone, listen to their voice and if it resembles that of the intended celebrity. You can even request for a few seconds of mimicry just to hear what they have to offer.

Do a thorough homework. Most good performers are quite known; even those who are just starting should have a reputation among the locals. Therefore, before you hire a celebrity impersonator, ask around to get more information about them.
