You should know that there are probably thousands of environmental documentaries but there are some that would hurt not to know. The environment is important to ensure that all people lead healthy lives therefore making all people be party to reading these example. You do not have to like the environment to read this but you are likely to change that thought the moment that you hear about these.

One documentary tells on how dolphins are killed in large numbers by the Japanese. It tried to explain that these fish form an important part of the food chain of the sea hence it is very important that they are not eliminated entirely. It also educated the public in the effects of taking the meat of fish that is contaminated with mercury. The major source of the mercury is pollution from the activities of most people. This is known as The Cove Documentary.

Sustainable development is considered to be the main agenda by Who Killed the Electric Car. This tries to inquire on how the ideas behind designing a car that will rely on electricity for its source of energy quickly vanished. This was considered to be a development that is sustainable since it did not rely on a non renewable resource. The fact that this was completely forgotten inspired this documentary.

In the future water is seen to gain more value that what oil has now. This is then likely to cause a war that will involve big nations and large corporations. It sees water as a grenade that is just waiting to go off in a matter of small time. This is referred to as the Blue Gold: World Water Wars and also sees water being scarce in the future as a result of how people use it irresponsibly right now.

The production of food is also seen as harmful to the health of people by the Food Inc documentary. It views the productions methods as exploitative both to the people working for the companies and top the animals. The food that is produced by these companies is considered to be cheap but contaminated hence bad for peoples health.

The Gasland documentary on the other hand goes ahead to explain how natural gas companies are offering people money so that they lease their land in drilling for gas. It explains how this has affected the people staying around the areas of Colorado, Wyoming, Texas and Utah among many other places. The drilling has also affected the quality of water that people use hence affecting the environment.

This makes it necessary for people to wake up and realize that they are part of environment therefore by taking care of it they will be taking care of themselves.

These environmental documentaries play an important role in delivering information that people can use so that they make the environment that they live in better. It educated people on the dynamics of negative effects on the environment on the well being of people.
