Sound canceling or not it does not matter because you cannot hear others with them on anyway. And at its current price, you're getting a good deal. Regardless of how much I adjusted it, the discomfort wouldn't go away. They're fairly big and as one prior reviewer put it, they are able to make everybody look like "Princess Leia" from Star Wars! The low ones sound perfectly and never distort the sound.

They are doing the task without any discomfort, and sound is great. Maybe it is not as good as my 20,000 - 36,000 hz home entertainment, nevertheless its an enormous enhancement over what I was using. If you would like leather earcups, pony up the money for them.

I recommend for watching films which has a switch on the ear bud for songs and movies, and I would highly recommend for movies.
However, the quality of sound is extremely dulled and lacks clarity. The quality in these headphones are amazing. A good buy.
