The New Dum Maro Dum

Hindi film lovers were experiencing it for the 1st time - the spellbinding music and the touching story of a brother and a sister filmed with Hippie culture as the backdrop. The song created by Asha Bhosle and RDB, Dum Maro Dum, a song without a match, has never been dulled by any new movie song that has been created afterwards. It was through Hare Rama Hare Krishna (in the credits of Navketan films), that Dev Anand brought forward the rebelling young minds of that period on to the silver screen .

This classic film of the '70s attracts a number of of fans of Hindi cinema even today. Without a doubt, the spell cast by Zeenat Aman as Janice (Jasbir) retains its charm.

In hope to getting the same response, Rohan Sippy has made a film with Dum Maro Dum as title, which feature the remixed version of the track in the same name, composed by music director Pritam. For the next gen fans of Hindi films, Rohan links the old and new with a stylish and scintillating item number by Deepika Padukone. The new movie deals with the relevant issue of drug mafia in Goa, which has a lot of international connections, where as HRHK explored the Hippie culture developed in America in the '60s. The new film has Bipasha Basu, Monty Munford, Aditya Pancholi, Prateik Babbar and Abhishek Bachchan.

Dum Maro Dum shows a lot of characters and shows how different people live their life. Rohan has introduced Bipasha as an individual wishing to be an airhostess, Abhishek as a policeman, Prateik as a college student, Rana as a Disc Jockey at pubs and Aditya as a local trader. The film also has one more person, who has several identities however he is not seen by anybody. He controls the drug mafia of Goa. Bipasha Basu through her role of Zoe adds the element of Hippie culture to the film.

Abhishek Bachchan in the role of ACP Vishnu Kamath, wanting to run away from his past, is given the job of destroying drug mafias functioning from Goa. By putting himself in danger, Prateik's character Lorry tries to be with his girlfriend, who left fro the US. The role of Rana in the film is Joki, who carelessly drifts through his life as he loses all in a fight with mafia. Aditya Pancholi is the assistant of the powerful mystery man and involves in all the drug trades in Goa.

Through the movie, viewers are taken to different places in Goa - the beautiful beaches, parties and discotheques are very common there. Each and Every character has different background scores and the film has music as one of his plus points. Film lovers are waiting for this suspense film, featuring various places in Goa. There are no comparisons between HRHK and this one except for the remixed title song.
