Breaking Up And The Greatest Country Songs

By Mitch Freeman

As we all know, the greatest country songs have themes such as love, breaking up, religion and a few others that help them get many fans and many albums sold. Some of the best country songs are about breaking up and the following songs are part of the top ten country songs that have this particular theme and have had a great impact on country music fans. Between breaking up and religion, the most common theme of the greatest country songs is breaking up.

Interesting enough, there are a lot more songs about splitting up than about love, possibly because not every single individual has had the possibility to experience true love, but we have all had our share of breakups. The majority of splitting up country tracks focus on the fact that they would have wanted to always be together with the particular person they were in a romantic relationship with. Among the top country songs about breaking up is "Oh Yeah, You're Gone" sung by Brad Paisley, which speaks about a man who still gets out two cups of coffee each morning although the loved one is not there any longer.

"You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone" by Brooks and Dunn speaks about a man that is sick and tired of getting hurt by the particular person he is with, that he will finally leave and that she's going to miss him when he will not be by her side. "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" sung by Darius Rucker is mostly about a man who left the woman he loved, but that still loves her and whothinks about how things would have been if they never broke up or if they just talked and attempted to resolve their troubles.

"A Lot Of Things Different" sung by Kenny Chesney talks about a man who should have taken care of the woman he adored while Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy" is about a man who made the woman he loved leave him because of his really bad behavior. Toby Keith's track, "Lost You Anyway" can be another one of the greatest country songs that speaks about how the relationship would have been if he would have taken different decisions as in contrast to the ones he took.

Taylor Swift's track, "Picture To Born" is mostly about a lady that desires revenge and thinks of what she'd like to do to her ex-boyfriend, which cheated on her, while "Kerosene" by Miranda Lambert is mostly about a lady that speaks about the break up with a man who was unfaithful to her. "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood refers to a woman who trashed her ex-boyfriend's car for the reason that he cheated on her. The very last of our top ten greatest country songs about breaking up is the one sung by Dixie Chicks, "Goodbye Earl".
