In a few months, audiences from around the world will get an inside look into an existence that is rarely exposed: the lives of pastors' wives.
A new Texas-based reality show, The Pastors' Wives' Club, will feature highlights of several real-life pastors' wives as they share their stories of tribulation, hardship, and joy in serving as a support to their pastor husbands. The show is currently in production and will be pitched to national networks in the fall.
Frequently, the wives of pastors are indeed an extension of a church pastor, often sharing responsibilities and burdens of an entire congregation. From being a leader of youth groups to having a knowledge of the Bible, pastors' wives must show the same devotion to her religion as her pastor husband does.
Not only do many of these wives have church responsibilities, but they are also involved in their communities and families as well. Often, certain expectations come with being a pastor's wife, and this show is aimed at seeing if these assumptions are indeed true.
The show The Pastors' Wives' Club exposes just how much responsibility is involved in being a pastor's wife, along with each woman's own spiritual journey to sustain her individual faith among an increasingly negative world. It also reveals the dynamics of pulpit couples and the effort that is taken to maintain those relationships.
Producers hope that this series will empower others in search of a blueprint for their own lives while encouraging women to be a support to their own families and communities.
Although the show is appropriate for all ages, its primary audience is those of the Christian faith or those interested in learning more about Christian religions.
This series is produced by The Reel Sisters Entertainment and Productions, LLC, a female Christian-run entity.
