Tommy LeVrier Wrote Numerous Plays

By Jillian Roth

Texas author Tommy LeVrier became popular because of his strange and interesting plays. He has a Masters degree in directing and play writing, and he is an author of numerous short films, screenplays and plays. His stories were published in numerous magazines. After becoming a finalist of a screenwriting contest of Nichol Foundation Academy, he becomes quite famous.

How To Get Rich is very popular play, actually a strange story about one young couple. Daphne and Huston are well-educated, but unemployed. In their search for the job, they meet Uncle Howie. Howie teaches them about finances, and how to become rich. In the meantime, they do believe he is actually Howard Hughes, hiding from the world.

Rapture Among The Oysters is a story about Marcie and John. They were in love somewhere in the sixties, but John left after Marcie's father and a former boyfriend attacked him. 30 years after, he is coming back. Finding Marcy fat and unattractive, he doesn't want her any more. Marcy would be happy to get him back, but she has to settle with his husband.

The Alcoholic Drama is another play about people meeting each other after some time. This time three women meet after ten years. Two of them have all kinds of frustrations about the third one, who was bullying them. Now they feel like it's time to punish her for all the bad things she did to them in their past.

Very interesting and somehow different play is the one called Jesus & Phoebe. It is a story about Phoebe, the young girl nobody loves. She loves music and she loves to sit on her bench in a park. When she finds Jesus on her bench, they share the bench but also their thoughts.

Ain't Hattie is very interesting, although tragic play Tommy LeVrier wrote about kind and generous lady trying to raise her nieces and nephew. They want to go to the beach, and she finds all kinds of excuses not to go there. She is dying, and she has to inform them about it.
