Go Where No One Has Gone Before With Star Trek Costumes

By David Lawson

There are plenty of creative ideas for Star Trek costumes if you find your kid invited to a Star Trek themed costume party. A little on line research will usually reveal some good results.

A child on the taller side can go as Mr. Spock, complete with insignia embroidered on his shirt. Great accessories would include Vulcan ears, a dark wig with a bowl cut, and a tiny bit of eye makeup.

Let his friends in on the plan so that they can all have fun dressed up as crew members of the Star Trek star ship enterprise. That will also startle their costumed peers at the party event they'll be going to.

Do-it-yourself Star Trek costumes for the rest of the kids may suffice, especially if you have an authentic one already at hand which you can easily copy.

For the boys, you could go with a long sleeve V-neck shirt and slim-fitting pants or even an undersized single color jumpsuit with black turtleneck. The male uniform costumes from Star Trek are usually created from a single color long sleeve top and dark or black trousers.

Combine those simple elements with an authentic looking communicator badge, and you've created the classic Star Trek look.

As for the girl's outfit, she can knock them out in a classic V-necked bright red mini dress with a black turtle-necked top underneath. Simply sew a patch that looks like the authentic Star Trek costumes' emblem and let the little miss wear black boots or booties with knee-high socks and she's ready for galactic fun.

If you don't exactly have the kind of time to put together such homemade creations, then browse the newest selections of Star Trek costumes on Halloween costume stores. Every year manufacturers put create new product lines to meet such high customer demand.

Either way your children will most certainly have a great time wearing quality and comfortable outfits.
