It's Not Ever Too Late To Learn How To Play Guitar

By Rick Hart

If you are like many folks who love music, you might be thinking how much fun it'd be to be well placed to play an instrument yourself. You see those musicians up on stage and you think... "I question whether I can do that?"

Well the answer's yes. It isn't ever too late to pick up an instrument and one of the easiest of all instruments to play is the guitar.

Why?

The fundamentals of guitar are really fairly straightforward. If you just learn two chords you can be playing pop songs in almost no time. Two or three chords is all that you need to be able to play a song. And there are lots of songs that are so simple three chords is all you need.

And you can find quality inexpensive guitars these days for less than two hundred dollars. These are quality instruments you can keep for a life-time. I've got a great Fender Stratocaster that I use when I play out that I purchased for $250. It's equally as good as my old 1965 Strat that is presently a collectors item.

What About The Blues

Take Blues music as an example. Most blues songs are based mostly on only three chords and the song pattern is really very simple. It's generally primarily based on a 12 bar chord progression that's so common to us that we will be able to pick it up swiftly. I bet you know 10 or 20 songs off the top of your head that are based on an easy blues form.

Why most rock and roll songs are the same way. Every Chuck Berry song is based upon a 12-bar progression and usually 3 chords. Don't recollect who Chuck Berry was, or is. Well I suspect we are both showing our age. But the Rolling Stones, and The Beatles and even Led Zeppelin play songs primarily based on Chuck Berry songs. Do not know who those bands are. Well now we have got a problem.

Anyway, even if you like songs by today's stars like Maroon 5, Jack White or country songs by Alan Jackson or Lady Antebellum, I bet they're primarily based on very simple chord progressions you can learn quite easily.

How About Country Music

Everybody likes some type of country music. Whether or not you are new school or Oldschool there is a country song that I bet you like. Those songs are super simple and you could be playing most of them in a matter of weeks. You simply need to learn three chords.

What Chords Is It Necessary To Learn

The best and quickest chords to learn on guitar are E, A, and D. These are the first chords that just about every guitar player learns in the beginning. When you know these three chords you may be playing blues or country songs in a matter of days.

And there's great internet instruction these days. You can watch videos on your computer and it's almost as good as having a teacher right there with you. And it's basically a lot less expensive than having to pay a teacher today's going rate.

Yes it's a great time to learn to play guitar. You have not excuses anymore, irrespective of how old or young you are. Time to get to it and start having fun like those guys and women up on stage. I have even got some free teaching videos myself. Just come visit my site below.
