People know Winston Rodney as the man who symbolized reggae music in their part of the town. The man himself was born in Jamaica and became a musician only after he met the famous Bob Marley. His reggae fans were certainly ready for more music and still are.

His first album was released in 1969 and since then he has always had his tours packed with people who just loved him and his style of music. Freeman won him a nomination for Grammy and then he released his Our Music album. People attend his concerts from all over the country. Reggae is like that, inspiring and awakens the feelings of the people who listen to it.

Many of his albums go on to make it to the top and eventually become what they are, the most sought after music. Jah is Real (Grammy winning album), (A) Live concert 97 and Burning Man-Freeman are among his greatest hits. The in depth theme of the songs are based on the real life principles like unity, freedom and trust. The songs Fix Me, Together and Friends are all based on these kinds of community and love based ideas.

The person behind the musician was always one that stood for the lifestyle. He would spur people on towards dreams of freedom and personal achievement and this made him popular. All genres have some theme or the other and it was the way he made it a point to liberate the African man that was uppermost in his mind. His thoughts on economic stability were another thing that was prominent in his songs.

The songs of Burning Spear vinals show how man should change and what his attitude should be. This is why all his songs are captivating and truly unique. The message in of all of this was unmistakable and clear. He really did believe that songs could and did mean different things; it depended on what one was looking at.
