Understanding Arts Effect On Society

By Casandra Newton

Arts effect on society has a lot of personal, cultural, and worldly value. Looking back over the stories of time you can see through the eyes of those who were there. The pictures, shapes, chaos and calm are all reflections of history told through the eyes of those who endured it. Then, of course, new stories begin a new chapter in time.

You can choose to look back at history or you can choose to look forward. At the heart of artistic expression is communication. The images that you are drawn to reach past words and into emotion. A single piece can continue to create messages to those who view it for decades, and even for centuries.

The stories that are told in this manner represent all of humanity. Whether the story is of survival, hope, love, loss, or anything in between they root you in connection to the artist. The human stories that are represented can be anything from adoring to fearful, but each makes the right connection. Through this process a relationship develops that links the artist and the viewer together.

Beauty can be represented just as easily as fear or anger. The tales that explain the timeless struggles of humanity are still reaching across centuries through images that are striving to tell the proper tale. This is, in fact, the very thing that attracts you. In these images you can find your own reflection as well.

As a whole, people have incorporated all of the tragedy and beauty of images into daily life. Nearly everything today has an image attached to it. Contacts on your phone come up with images of people or avatars. Social media has give a prioritized space for expressing various images. Some of the most famous works are seen in deco form, reproduced to look modernized. You cannot escape the impact because it is absolutely everywhere.

There are those who look at artistic expression as something nice that can be hung on the wall. Others see it as life itself told back to you as you look at it through new eyes every time. When natural disasters threaten the most valuable pieces are moved. In that action alone you can see the priority it takes over other things.

There are those who believe that one day the world be a post apocalyptic wasteland and those who were fortunate enough to save the art will be required to trek to a specified destination so that all pieces can live on in a collection. This sort of dedication comes from studying the viewpoints that are presented in the piece and connecting with the message as well as the artist. Some people even believe that once that connection is made the work becomes more powerful.

Arts effect on society is profoundly deep. Most people, even those who are living in their own devotion to it, do not completely understand the attraction and the need to make it continue. What is known is that the visceral appreciation for the work itself has become part of everything that is done from waking up to going to bed. There is the constant companion of imagery.
