Karan Johar- The Experimental Filmmaker

Karan Johar has earned himself a very significant place in the industry. His passion for film and entertainment has got him all the success in all the challenges that he has taken up. He has successfully played the role of a director, producer, screen writer, costume designer and television host.

Son of Hiroo Johar and Yash Johar, Karan Johar has taken forward the Dharma Empire and made it reach new heights of triumph. Karan Johar stated off his career as an actor with a small role in Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dhulaniya Le Jayenge. He late made his directorial debut and gave the industry an unforgettable romantic film, 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in the year 1998. And there began his remarkable journey in the film industry as there was no looking back post the success of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Karan Johar has been one of the most experimental film makers as his stint with movies includes a range of genres. Apart from being a film maker, Karan's endowed with incredible versatility as he has been viewers favorite TV host from 2004 as he made his television debut with a chat show, Koffee with Karan. His vibrant and charming personality makes him an extremely confident and appealing anchor.

He has made movies of different genres; his movies were characterized by themes like adultery, family tension, religious discrimination etc. These themes were all extracted from the real life incidences. His intention is to create awareness about the socially relevant topics that can be debatable.

Karan considers Shahrukh as one of the great actor that Bollywood has and apart from the professional relationship they are really good friends off screen. Other then casting Shahrukh in most of his movies, Karan has also designed costumes for some of Shahrukh's movies like Dil To Pagal Hai, Duplicate, Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om. Karan is known to be good with his words and can indulge in interrogating the Bollywood celebrities with his witty questions in his famous chat show Koffee with Karan.

'Student Of The Year' has got Karan back to the director's seat after a long time. Student Of The Year is the story of three friends who traverse the path of competition, envy, triumph, failure, manipulation and heartbreak. The trailer of the film is already out and has been well received as the audiences can't stop raving about this young and good looking trio. The film is slated for its big release on the 19th of October.
