How To Work Hard As A Bartender

By Michael Obrien

The job of a Florida bartender mainly involves serving a mix of alcoholic beverages to customers who sit in their bar. This is an important job for them. Since they are in this job, it is only appropriate for them to be hospitable to their clients. They have to smile when they receive their clients inside their establishment.

Cleanliness is a must to this kind of job. The professional will have to keep the bar sparkling. It is unprofessional for bartenders to let their bar stay dirty even if it is just a minute. Always prepare a clean bar towel to wipe off those moisture or spilled drinks on the bar top anytime. The bottles should be placed back to the shelf after using them.

Do not hesitate to make a suggestion as to what drinks the customer should enjoy when needed. Most of the times, the customers will rely on the bartenders to give them a suitable drink. After all, they are the professionals when it comes to this matter. The advice the professional gives will surely be valued.

Having a good memory is essential to those who are working behind the bar. After all, they have lots of things that they have to remember. They will have to remember the name of the regular customers. They also have to remember the drinks they frequently order. Not only that, they have to keep a presence of mind when the bar is busy at night.

Anticipating what happens when the establishment is opened is another task for the said professional. They have to anticipate the sudden rush of customers. That is why they have to get the feel of things to be able to stock up on the lemons, limes, and other fresh fruits they need for their drinks. They also need to know when it is appropriate to stock more alcoholic beverages.

It is a must for the person to be fair. There is no room for preferential treatment, even if it is human nature. The professional will have to drop such habits. This is because it is imperative for the professional to show the same amount of attention and care those those who are visiting the bar, regardless of whether they are newcomers or longtime friends.

Trust is an absolute thing for all bartenders. This is surely one of the mantras that they will have to repeat to themselves over and over again. They should not overcharge nor underpour their clients. When the said professional breaks their client's trust, then this will just lead to the bar getting a bad reputation.

Do not be so fixated on tips. This is a gratuity from the side of the clients. They are not obliged to give the professional any, despite the fact that this might be the one that makes up the majority of the professional's income. The patrons will actually notice such obsession with the tips.

Do not forget that the bar is an establishment that serves alcoholic beverages. That is why the Florida bartender should ask for a person's identification if it seems as if that person is below the legal drinking age. Do not serve even a glass of alcoholic beverages to these customers since this is the same as breaking the law.
