Watching Charlie Sheen tumble out of the sky, crash, and burn has been more like a Greek tragedy to me than a comedy. Charlie Sheen is, obviously, under a great deal of strain and his addictions are making it difficult for him to cope with these sudden changes in his life. He has done interviews with the media in which he seems to not only admit to drug use, but to be proud of it as well. He boasts of his addiction to the point where I almost have to think he is making a show out of himself. If that is true, he is a genius. If not, he needs help getting his life straight instead of having throngs of Americans wearing funny Charlie Sheen t-shirts.
Anyone can have problems like Charlie Sheen, even if not on such a grandiose scale. Movie, television, and music stars all have the capability of losing control because stars are not some extra-special species of mankind. They are just as human as you and I, except that they are on a tremendous level of stress. When you have all of the stresses that people live with every day, and then add massive amounts of fame on top of that, you can end up with some very unstable individuals. Can you imagine the level of paranoia that comes with Sheen's heavy drug use and people wearing funny Charlie Sheen t-shirts down the street?

He is a walking sight gag, and may be unemployable as a professional actor. His life may be ruined, and he's too strung out to even realize it.

This was well before his current television show, back when he was a respected actor. Sheen comes from great acting stock. His father is respected all over Hollywood and it boosted Sheen into the spotlight and into such films as 'Platoon' and 'Apocalypse Now'. He made great strides in his career, excelling at both drama and comedy. Whatever happened to that drive and focus, no one can say.

He needs help from his family and friends if he ever wants to reboot his career. What he needs most of all is help from us. He needs the blessing of the masses to just forget what he is and what he has done. Until we release our hold on him, he will remain in this state of frenzied self-destruction. Our greatest gift to Charlie Sheen is to just ignore him and let him heal
