The Underwater Superhero Aquaman

By Scott Baker

Whether the Simpsons was a lot funnier than Family Guy or not is for our generation to decide when we reminisce about this era of cartoon comedy.During its first few episodes, one cannot deny the similarity and competition between the Simpsons and Family Guy.However, as seasons develop for Family Guy, it has created a reputation of being a better and more entertaining cartoon comedy.Through the years however, as Family Guy developed and aired more episodes, the competition was reduced into nothing more than a clear transition from an old successful family entertainment that is the Simpsons into the more creative and far more entertaining Family Guy.

The battle between the two cartoons can also be seen in the merchandise available. Family Guy tees are available in great number, as are tees featuring the Simpsons.

As you may already know, the plot of Family Guy is very much similar to that of the Simpsons which tells the story of the American family led by a self-centered father.Aside from this, many other similarities can be easily observed by even the most untrained observant.Arguably though, Family Guy, as can be inferred from its reception, is more successful in depicting a parody of an American family.Family Guy introduces to us a stereotypical obese and vain family members.Adding to the comedy of this show is its twisted introduction of the character of Stewie Griffin â€" the English-accent speaking genius toddler.Family Guy does not stop at Stewie and decided to adopt a talking dog to its roster of characters.

With such great characters come some great tee designs. Family Guy tees can be found featuring most of the main characters and some of the less well known ones also get a look in.Among my favorites are Stewie and Brian and you can be sure there are plenty Family Guy tees featuring these guys.

Most noteworthy perhaps is the way Family Guy has captured the attention of the very demanding audience of America with a plot that has been used already in the past. This success is probably related to the current trend and demand for less predictability and more maturity in the script and storyline of Television series as opposed to the conservative ones which dominated in the past.Positive feedbacks from the audience towards vulgar, mature, unpredictable and sometimes, highly political or religious topics as subjects of humor made shows such as Family Guy, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and other sit-coms very successful. In the end, humor really is all about how the audience reacts and not how the clown acts.
