Vintage Shoes That Are Still Popular

By Alyssa Riggs

As has been known for centuries, trends in clothing and fashion keep repeating themselves in a cycle. Clothes that were worn in the eighties and seventies are suddenly on the fashion runways again. Vintage shoes that ruled the earlier years for their functionality are now seen as items of fashion. Some of the biggest names in design are inspired by clad that ruled the eighties.

Most of the public colleges and high schools students in English public schools don oxfords. Nobody would have expected these pieces to be a hit on modeling runways. However, they have made a colossal comeback to the fashion industry and are now rocked by some of the biggest celebrities and fashion enthusiasts. Oxfords were previously a preserve of gentlemen but have been remade to suit the feminine style.

The evolution and rising popularity of rock music has carried a most unusual feature of style with its tide. Much to the amusement of many retro shoe enthusiasts, clogs are back in style. These shoes are considered a preserve of the rebellious and free spirits of society. Bold designs have been incorporated with clogs to make them auger well with the modern taste. Some of the most popular styles of clogs include peep toes, boots and heels.

Slippers and flats are some of the best inventions to hit the shoe market. This is due to their ease of use and comfort. Flat shoes are good for walking long distances or wearing in laid back conditions. Ballerina flats are an incoming trend that is mainly adored for comfort. Good flats are difficult to come by thus placing a high intrinsic value on them.

Cowboy boots from Midwest America are currently a hot fashion trend. Previously a preserve of gun wielding rednecks and farm laborers, boots have made a colossal impact in today's fashion industry. They are admired for their tough look, durability and intricate design. Some innovative designers have gone the extra mile to add unique patterns to boots. As a result, boots have made their comeback to runways and are slowly infiltrating mainstream fashion.

Since time immemorial, heels and pumps have been an integral part of fashion for ladies. They have the ability to transform ordinary clothes into fabulous pieces of fashion. Ladies are going the extra mile in search of vintage heels that have colorful linings, intricate designs and accessories such as buckles.

Sling backs and sandals have always been popular during summer. In recent years, vintage designs of sling backs have made a booming return to fashion runways. Most popular are the Asian inspired designs, fabric insoles, and sea shell makes. Sandals are especially sought after for their ease of use and comfort.

Vintage shoes are fun to collect and wear. They are popular for the memories that they bring to us from a past that we all thought as forgotten. However, as we all know history, and fashion in particular, has a way of repeating itself. Trends are recycled every now and then with only minor additions being made. The key to maintaining a fresh and fashionable demeanor with vintage clad is to go bold and confident.
