How To Learn The Piano For Beginners

By Andy Penbram

If you are thinking about taking piano lessons you'll see that there are many alternate approaches to learning you can take. Even the personal piano teachers all have their own method of teaching. When you're just starting out then you will no doubt be a little puzzled by all many options available to you. These are some pointers to help decide which is the best way to take piano lessons.

To become proficient on the piano can take many years of working hard and practice. By contrast, plenty of other instruments such as the guitar let's say take a lot less time to become good. On the guitar you can learn one or two simple chords and be playing songs within a few minutes of picking it up for the very first time. With the piano however this will take far longer.

Regular individual piano lessons with a personal teacher can be quite frustrating to start with for the amateur piano player. You may begin to play some simple tunes when you have learned where all the notes are. At the start you may play with just one hand, then you may play with the other. After one or two lessons you might get to playing something easy using both hands together.

There is a somewhat different and more effective approach to piano learning in the new home learning courses that have become available on the internet recently . In contrast to the conventional piano lessons these will show in detail how to play by ear and how to read music at the same time. The approach is similar to learning guitar where you are shown some basic chords thru a series of videos and inside no time whatsoever you'll be playing great sounding piano music.

Learning to play the piano by using one of these home study programs will let you to become skilled in several different playing styles or genres inside a very brief time. When you learn like this you'll be taught pop, jazz, blues and even classical straight from the beginning and won't have to wait till you are an advanced player.
