Karan Johar's next stars Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt

You know a film has been marketed just right when, besides the hordes of movie-goers, the industry shows a load of interest as well. Such is the case with Karan Johar's upcoming film titled Student of the Year. The fifth movie directed by Karan Johar, following his previous films including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and My Name Is Khan (2010), Student of the Year will star three newcomers in the lead, Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

To begin with is the song "Ratta Maar". Based on the pre-examination stress faced by students, this song has quickly turned into a youth anthem. The lyrics project the anxiety of students preparing for examinations. The song was sung by Vishal and Shefali Alvares and is bound to be played aloud every exam season! Following this is the song "Radha".

Karan Johar has previously worked with Siddharth and Varun for his film My Name Is Khan, with the duo assisting the veteran director. For him, working with newcomers is a new experience. "The film feels different from any other film that I have directed, as I have worked with movie stars who don't need hand-holding. With these three newcomers, it was a journey, like nurturing and parenting them," says Karan Johar.

Karan went on to add, "I am sure their parents are going through the same emotions that I am going through right now. It's a very special feeling. This is something that I felt I needed to do. It's a very satisfying emotion."

Student of the Year released on the 19th of October, 2012. The film is a trend-breaker of sorts for the director-producer and is also crowned as one of the year's most anticipated movies.
