Do You Want To Learn To Play Guitar For Newbies?

By Travalia Suropeda

To learn to play guitar for newbies can be a promising and fun thing for a lot of reasons, and these reasons can be practical or creative. Some might just want to learn this skill in order to expand their horizons, whereas others may have a goal which makes this necessary. For those learning, an acoustic six string guitar might be preferable, along with an optional pick used to strum the strings.

Patience is another important thing to have, but other than the guitar, there is really nothing more you need to start practicing. Taking these first steps might be even easier if you have an established love for music.

There are some basic things that you will need to know about learning to play the guitar. One of the first things that you will learn is the note arrangement of the strings.

There are six of them and they are arranged on the fret board in order of thickness, and each string represents a different note. The thickest string is the lowest, at an E, then in order, it is A, D, G, B and a second E as the highest, thinnest string. It is important to remember these and how your fingers will rest on them.

Of course, your dominant hand is the one used to play the strings in this way, when you play your guitar. The pitch and tone of the notes and chords also depends on which strings you pluck or hold down. Many people prefer to practice holding the guitar so they can, in turn, begin to learn which strings need picking to avoid future mistakes.

The notes are played by pressing down on the strings in order to play the right notes. As well as being able to play the notes themselves, it might take some practice to be able to move between notes with ease. When you are practicing, take care between lessons to really make sure that you have mastered that lesson as it will make future lessons easier.
