Television has been a great entertainment medium for many years. But there are a lot of people that think that there is nothing much of interest on television nowadays, and tend to switch it off to do other things instead. But there are lots of interesting shows that can still teach us things. Let's have a look at some of them.
There is the detective show Psych. This guy has a photographic memory and is very quick on the uptake, but he pretends that he is psychic to solve crimes for the police.
It is one of those shows that allow you to try to solve the case yourself as it progresses. Not in the context that you ring in with the answers, but it leads you on, so that you can try to see if you are right in your assumptions of who is guilty. It gets your brain working as you watch.
ABC shows a program about a so called Super Nanny. In this show she teaches parents how to handle unruly kids.
Jo or Super Nanny will enter homes of unruly kids and teach the parents how they should deal with them, without screaming at them or dealing out punishments. This can benefit both the parent and the kids.
There are a lot of factual programs on the television today. What not to wear takes people with absolutely no fashion sense and teaches them how to dress properly to make them feel good about themselves. It shows people how to raise their confidence levels and improve their self esteem.
As we all are to aware, confidence and self esteem can really affect how we live our lives, and can affect how the future will turn out for us.
My personal favorites, which by the way are not suitable for the kids, are shows such as NCIS, the three C.S.I shows and Law and Order. These shows give us an insight into how our justice system works as well as teaching us how many different crimes are solved.
