Information you need to know about bootleg movies

By Marjorie J. Tufts

When new blockbuster movies are being released by big movie companies, a lot of movie goers will line up in the cinema usually early in the day just to be the first few people to watch the premiere. A lot of money is being spent by these movie goers just to watch people move around the screen. They even argue that watching movies in the theater are much better than in the television because you get to be part of the entire movie especially if the video and sounds are very immersive. But for casual movie goers, premieres are just premieres.

For a causal movie watcher, they would prefer to wait for the movie to be available in DVD or any equivalent media. However, if they really want to watch that new movie then they have the option to download movies via the internet. This is possible because of advanced software that can capture and rip videos with a big help from the internet. And a lot of people can now watch them through whatever media device they chosen.

These copied versions are now called bootleg movies. In a sense, they are just pirated versions of the actual movie. The video and audio quality is rather poor especially when that movie was just released for viewing. Back in the olden times, bootlegs were actually vessels for storing illegal alcohol because it was considered illegal to produce your own alcohol. Boots were the only way to hide them.

Plenty of people prefer to download these bootleg movies despite it being considered as contra band. One reason is that it's just easy to download since all you have to do is sign up and click the movie you want to download. Furthermore, you can download more than one movie if you want which can save you a lot of time and money travelling to a video store and getting those old movies from them. But the best bit is that you can watch the downloaded bootleg movies anywhere you want.

However, it is important to note that bootleg movies are considered to be contraband. That is to say, they are illegal to own and many campaigns have been launched to stop this piracy. It is not generally encouraged that people download movies that are pirated because there are now state laws that prohibit such actions.

However, there is a loophole. If you do not market what you have downloaded, then to a certain degree it's alright to download bootleg movies. Hence, these movies must be used for personal use only because once you go out and selling them, there is a big likelihood that you would get punished by the law. So a word of advice: be careful and enjoy the show.
