Choosing A Good Colorado Wedding Band

By Alison Wilcox

There are many forms of entertainment available for any event. When looking for a Colorado wedding band, it is important to find out about their experience. Discuss what their background consists of, as well as the events they have performed at in the past. Knowing the kind of music they are familiar with will help with choosing who you will hire. Talk about where the event is being held and the music that you are interested in having performed.

Most bands will have a portfolio that you can review. Most of them keep records, pictures and recorded music from prior events for future customers to review. Perhaps they will even have videos of the functions where they have played. This will provide a good sense of how they relate to the audience and how well the guests are entertained.

An audition is a must to get the proper feel of their personalities, as well as their music. A wedding is a very important day. Good music is going to encourage the guests to get up out of their seats and dance. This will make all the difference between bored guests or excited ones. A band that is unable relate to their audience will not be very entertaining.

Once the audition has taken place, and everyone seems satisfied with them, discuss the plans for the day. They will need to know how long they are expected to perform as well as the kind of music is expected. This would be a good time to provide them with a list of desired songs.

There will most likely be important times during the event when certain songs should be played. Like with the father and daughter dance, or when only married couples are being requested for a dance. These should be discussed as part of the plan so that the evening runs smoothly.

The experienced ones know how to motivate the guests. They know how to read the audience and will can change the tempo with a simple intervention. They often play games that will isolate a certain age group to the floor in order to keep the evening flowing. This is a great way to keep everyone busy and involved in the event.

A deposit is required when locking in entertainment for a wedding. Read and understand everything in the contract that is provided so that there are no unexpected surprises. Both parties should be clear on what their responsibilities are as well as what they can expect from the other.

On the day of the event, the Colorado wedding band should be ready to go. Providing an agenda will help everyone stay on track and keep within the timing of the evening. The newly married couple should not have anything to worry about as this is their big day. The music should be provided as agreed and the evening should flow without issues. If there is something special that needs to be addressed and it wasn't discussed earlier, requesting this from the leader is appropriate. Any reputable band will know how to deviate from the plan and still stay on track and provide the guests with a great time.
