Great Treats To Eat When At A Movie

By Alan Lott

Like millions of other Americans I love going to the movie theater. One of the things I look forward to the most is the food available there. Okay, I know it's not the healthiest in the world, and is vastly overpriced, but it's good to treat yourself once in a while and it enhances the experience for me.

This is my list of favorite movie food that is available in the theaters. These aren't in any special order; I just wrote them down as I thought of them.

More and more movie theaters are now offering Nachos. It's a perfect movie food, if you eat it quietly! The hot cheese and salted chips are delicious washed down with an ice cold soda.

If you want to limit how much fatty food you eat, yet still enjoy a snack at the movies, then pretzel bites. These hot pretzel pieces arrived in our movie theaters during the 1990's and are still going strong. If you want to spoil yourself a bit, get them dipped in cheese, delicious.

If you prefer candy to savory snacks, the Sour Patch Kids has long been one of the biggest sellers in our movie theaters. The contrast between sweet and sour is extremely popular, and these small candies are really addictive.

It always amazes me why there are some firm movie favorites that just don't sell well in stores. The main three that this has happened to are Goobers, Sno-caps and Junior Mints. They sell by the bucket load in every movie theater in the US but people just don't seem to consider buying them at any other time.

Fountain sodas come in all colors and flavors and everyone has their favorite. One that has recently come to the forefront is the slush ice drink. These have appeared in every movie theater and look as though they're here to stay.

No list is complete without the original movie food; popcorn. There are so many varieties available today if you fancy something a bit different from the classic variety.
